Boards and Execs often experience tension over expectations, responsibilities, and reporting. These tensions divert exec’s attention from service and a board’s attention to policy, planning and evaluation. BWB has been recruited to intervene, and through interviews and attendance at board and committee meetings, provides advice and training regarding board and committee roles, tasks and authority and most importantly, distinguishing between governing, volunteering and managing.
Results include a workable relationship between the board and exec, by-law improvements, modified board structure, a board recruitment plan, improved meeting management, and exec and board dashboard and performance review.
